Lasting for a short period of time (midway in duration between the popularity of the song Tubthumping by Chumbawumba, and our national belief that the TV show Lost was actually going to end in a satisfying way) the era of Always On Social Content was a bare-knuckle, 140-character thunderdome of advertising.
And I was there, man. I was there.
This was a campaign I did early in my career, that began with a pro bono client who really needed some help. On one hand, the microscopic budget could barely cover the cost of an average TV shoot's craft service table. On the plus side? They had some amazing stories to tell.
Fun Fact: The Texas State Fair is ground zero in the manufacturer battle for pickup truck supremacy. Our mission was to make a big impact for the new Super Duty with Texas business owners. So we gave them a big opportunity to put their company's name up in lights. Literally.
The outdoors attract trucks. Truck grilles attract bugs. Bugs attract frogs. It's the circle of life... in thirty seconds.
